OK... the Japanese page has titles for most talks - which are missing from the English page.

Aha. Alas, not as revealing as I hoped.

Looks like mainly photogs displaying their work, using their existing Ricoh/ Pentax gear, it seems.
The most interesting ones might be the two workshops (two sessions for each) without any determined/disclosed topic: the one with 中藤毅彦氏 and the one with 瀬尾拓慶 and 山写.

But it's certainly far from big drums rolling to promote a new product.

Concerning the 25 other sessions:
  • eight involve Pentax equipment
  • six involve Theta equipment
  • five involve the GR III, of which a double-duration (one hour) Q&A session -they are asking for questions
  • two involve GR III and Theta Z1
  • two involve GR, Theta and K-1 Mark II
  • two are not related to any specific equipment.

Funnily enough, I see from the exhibition floorplan that Ricoh is right next to Tamron.
Layout Plan - Venue Guide | CP+2020 CAMERA & PHOTO IMAGING SHOW 2020

Sony, Canon and Nikon seem to have the largest displays, followed by Fuji then Panasonic.

More Chinese exhibitors than I've seen before, including DJI. I wonder how that will work out re Corona.

One of the speaker Takayuki Maekawa ( I googled ) seems to be a wildlife photographer but the title of his speech says THETAで捉える動物写真の世界 ( world of animal photography captured with THETA).
Interesting choice for using Wildlife photographer to talk about 360 camera. I personally associate wildlife photography with the drone and underwater photography more than 360. Will see how it goes.
On AdobeMax Japan last year Ricoh works with Russell Brown, a Sr. creative director at Adobe on promoting Theta 360 camera. He is a well know person using a 360 camera on a daily basis.

If we knew who they were, the names of the speakers on the seminar stage program may give some clue about what is going to be announced.

CP+2020 Exhibition Guide ?RICOH IMAGING
I looked up several and they were all photographers, interestingly, one was affiliated with Olympus, one with fujifilm, and one with Ilford.

During the event, we will loan RICOH GR III or HD PENTAX-D FA 70-210mmF4ED SDM WR, free for 90 minutes.

※ Application will be accepted only on that day.
※ Photo ID is needed.
※ D FA 70-210mm loaning is lens alone. Camera not equipped.
※ SD memory card is not prepared. Bring your SD memory card.

Anyone up for a quick shoot-and-review?

Excellent location near an entry and adjacent to vendors that are sure to draw traffic. I approve.

中藤毅彦 is a street/cityscape photographer and long time GR user.
瀬尾拓慶 and 山写 are both nature and landscape photographers, one specialized in Japanese forest and the other in mountaineering.

Unlikely that these are used for making big announcements for new camera and lenses.

That is a good thing, most new cameras/lenses released these days provide nothing more than older model for still photography. For me , the only way to get "bangs for the buck" is to move up medium format, if not I'll be juicing my K1 system until it dies, based on 200 000 shutter actuations means I'll be using it until 2040. All these new apsc models from Fuji are just running in circle, that's a waste of money IMO.

I'm a little disappointed in the number of customers pictured in the mock up. If I could draw (and I can only actually draw stick figures) I would have shown the Pentax side of the booth swarming with customers as the Nikon reps look on with glowering faces...

A sensible precaution, but disappointing all the same.

At least some of Ricoh’s workshops and talks could still go ahead over the Internet.
