Passing of Yvon Bourque

I'm very sorry to say that I've learned that our well-liked Pentax eBook author, Yvon Bourque, passed away in late January. There has not yet been a memorial service, so I plan to sent flowers on behalf of the forum once I learn more.

Please feel free to share your thoughts in this thread and I will forward them to Yvon's family.

In the mean time, the eBooks will remain available and Yvon's family would like to carry on his legacy.

Ah, dear me. That's sad news indeed, Adam Thank you for letting us know.

Yvon's ebooks were of great benefit to many here, including me (I have three of them)... and, in my brief dealings with him by e-mail, he seemed like a lovely chap.

My sincere condolences and love to Yvon's family at this difficult time...

Please pass along to his family that I greatly appreciated the time and effort he put into his books, and the insight they provided. He was a not-so-hidden gem, and will be missed.

Yvone was a well liked individual who dedicated so much of his time to sharing his knowledge of cameras. When I purchased my K10D many years ago it was Yvon who helped to get around the camera and understand its workings. He responded to a number of my emails answering a wide range of questions.

When Yvon began to travel pulling a trailer all through the US and Canada I followed his exploits on his excellent blog. He will be missed and our community has lost a very special person. RIP Yvon

Sorry this is new news. I had been following the posts of his daughter on FB and learned about this soon after it happened. I just presumed that folk on PF knew about it. According to what I read he was positive about life, right up to the end. We have been helped and honored here by his work and presence. I wish him and his family well.
