From my experience with dfa*50mm this new star will be a winner for sure. Hope the price is not so high.

Ricoh wins no awards for speed of development on Pentax products, but you really have to hand it to them on desirability with this second D FA* lens. If it delivers to the same level as the 50, it's going to be a very successful product

On the 26th of February, 2019, just before CP+, RIcoh Imaging published a 'Notice of exhibition of reference product' together with a picture of the mock-up to be showcased at CP+2019.

Now they are disclosing the full name and some specifications and they planned to showcase a prototype at CP+. They did more or less the same with the HD Pentax-D FA★ 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW:

February 2017 (CP+ 2017): Notice of exhibition of reference product + mock-up showcased at CP+ + tentative launch date
October 2017 (Photoplus Expo 2017): Full name and preliminary features disclosed
February 2018 (CP+ 2018): Additional features disclosed and prototype available for touch and try at CP+

By the way, this is a huge beast: 95mm (max. diameter) x 123.5mm (length), that's respectively 20% and 76% bigger than the smc Pentax-FA★ 85mm f/1.4 [IF]. That's Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art territory: 94.7mm x 126.2mm in Sigma SA mount, 94.7mm x 124.7mm if it existed in K mount.

The Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art weighs 1,130g. The HD Pentax-D FA★ 85mm f/1.4 SDM AW should have a similar weight.
