Are they showing the 70-210 f4 twice, once as a real lens up in the top-ish area of the roadmap with a real image of the lens, and then again as a red line in the '2020 or later' lenses near the 85?

Looks like we can still expect something like a 24mm f2 or faster, and then a 17 or so slower prime as well, both this year or soon after. Fingers crossed.

What do you suppose the UWA single focus lens will be? 20mm? 16mm? I already have the Rokinon 14 2.8, it can't be 14.

It looks like they might be designing something that goes to 70-300mm. Maybe a 55-300 version for FF?

That is more like 70-280 probably variable aperture.

A 70-280 or -300 variable aperture seems like a funny place to place bandwidth vs. other area (that I am more interested in, I'll admit).

Norm, I think 17 or so for the UWA non-fast. If I were Ricoh I'd let the 3rd parties handle glass wider than that. A 17 or so really seems to be missing, to me, but what do I know.

Right now, ff compatible, there's the 60-250, 70-200, 70-210, 150-450, plus 200, 300, and 560. I don't know what's optimal on the wide side with primes. A 17, a 23, and a 28? Back to 15mm and a 24 and that's it? It's really hard to say.

I'd be really happy with a 17mm f4 (rectilinear) and a 70-300 f4.5-6.2 (or whatever), though I still would probably buy the 70-210 f4 first...
I think the 10-17 handles the fisheye/UW pretty well, and at those widths, vignetting isn't as big an issue... and if you want wider, buy a Theta...

And I'd really like to see a 24mm f2.0...

But I have a feeling it will be a 28 f1.4 or something huge... though it would be cool to have 28/50/85mm f1.4 :-)

A 25 to 28mm f2.0 or faster would be fantastic stuff for both full frame and crop shooters as long as it's not some 2 pound, 90mm filter thread beast.

Most manufacturers have a variable aperture telephoto zoom (roughly) in that focal range.

Tamron SP 70-300 f/4-5.6
Nikkor 70-300 f/4.5-5.6E
Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6 APO
Canon 70-300 f/4-5.5L
Sony 70-300 f/4-5.6G
etc

It is essentially the counterpart to the 28-105 f/variable lens. Long focal range and fairly light weight, compact construction. Full Frame.

That's been on the roadmap awhile.. or at least discussed for a couple of years now iirc.

The item that piques my interest is that DA zoom. Not sure if that's a fresh addition or not. But it looks to be roughly in the range of the DA* 16-50mm, so maybe its finally going to get an update to go with the K-New.

You aren't wrong, and I understand wanting to have parity with other brands on focal lengths and such, except that a 70-300 variable-f etc lens would be duplicating focal lengths that have been covered many times over. Yes, sure, get a good 70-300 in there, that's a nice thing to have, but when the widest full-frame prime is the FA 31... My point was that I think it would be nice to have wider full-frame glass from Pentax themselves right now over another zoom that starts at 70. We've already got two of them, plus the 60-250, etc etc.

There's a rumor going around that Pentax was going to show off a DA 16-50 f2.8 at CP+, a mk2, but the show didn't happen so it's just on the map for now. I believe it's been there for a while. This also seems like a lens with a more pressing need than a 70-300. To me. My two cents.

Compact lightweight and cheap. As @normhead wrote maybe a FF version of the HD DA 55-300mm F4.5-6.3.

Perhaps a successor to the 60-250?

The Ultra wide FF prime certainly spikes my interest. Hopefully something like a DFA 18mm f4 (ideally WR).
I'm really craving a compact FF UWA. Tried the Samyang 14 but the one I got (new) was badly decentred and not keen to try again as the supplier was saying they would not replace another, so refunded. Would be great if the new lens was smaller than the Samyang 14 too.

Possibly the first of a new Limited series?

It looks like the speculated D FA*35 mm f 1.4 is still on the map.

Exactly. A buddy to 28-105.
