Some time last year I made the statement that the most key feature in enticing me to buy the new APS-C DSLR would be a better OVF. I really didn't think Pentax would do it.

Well, they have, but it will probably be late 2021 at the earliest when I'll be able to buy one.

The other stuff is interesting and it is most encouraging to hear positive talk from Pentax, but I’m demoting APSc to only the KP. Just sold my DA* zooms and K-5lls and DA Limiteds are next. I’ll have to resist GAS because if I buy the camera I’ll want to buy the lenses back.

D FA21/? Limited WR DC will be in my hands first day of issue. There’s a FF body out there for late 2021 I bet,

Jury is still out on the 85 -

Another Tamron rebrand and a Pentax designed lens for APS-C.

This really my hope rather than I guess but the Tamron would be a 150-600 and the Pentax be a 16-50.

But these are more hopes than guesses and guesses are even weaker than predictions.
Half right on the new lenses.

They did announce a new 16-50.

But as I said these were more hopes than guesses.

So - a black or a silver 21 Limited for my black k-1ii ?

Some choices are real hard.

Both - then you’ll have a match for the next FF in both colors

Also, no mention of the speed of the DFA 21 Limited (f/4?).
That's what I'd guess from the DoF scale... but it wouldn't be too far fetched to say something like 2.8 based on the size, as the scale on the FA limiteds all start at f/4.

Interesting it's not engraved on the lens at the base (just says 21, rather than something like the DA's 3.2/21)...

I won't be replacing my camera for years (hopefully...), but it is real nice to see that focus on a good viewfinder...

Hate to be that guy, but I'm a little disappointed by the lack of revealed specs for the new camera. The only new info is finder magnification, its protrusion from the body, and the battery grip.

Still no definitive statement about the rear screen. No AF module specifics. Nothing about the sensor and image processing engine. Nothing about video.

It's nice to hear that it's still on track for 2020, though.
Yep, a mite light on important details on the camera. Oh well, my KP is not quaking in its boots at this time, certainly.

Liking the DFA 21 limited - hope it's better than f4, though.

On another thread Mistral75 also pointed out there is a 4 on the DoF scale. The max aperture might be wider than 4 but I’d guess not 2.8. There’s plenty of white space either side of the center line though, like the 31 and 77.

AFA the nomenclature - probably staying in the FA Limited tradition.

I don’t need wider than 4 for a Ultra Wide anyway.
It would be hilarious if the new lens were f/3.2...

Nothing wrong with that... I have a feeling that 21mm and f3.2 could be a nice lens... reminds me of something familiar

Still interesting that they haven't got the aperture displayed on the lens body (yet), in either FA Limited marking, or the newer DA and DFA markings...

Wow! A new battery grip!

Nice presentation for one done from several remote locations.

Too bad about no specs on the 16-50. I'll probably keep mine anyway. The 85 with a convex front element like the chrome front ring Canon 35mm f2.0 from the early and mid 1960s. That was one of the sharpest/ highest resolution lenses I ever had. I de-yellowed mine with sunlight.

Here is a good write up:

Canon FD 35mm F2 Concave Thorium Lens Rare Radioactive Chrome Nose | #1790295427

Here is a beat up one: with a thorium element

FEDEX ?EXC: Rare O Mark ?CANON FD 35mm f/2 MF Wide Angle Lens FD Mount Japan | eBay

As for the K new I wanted to know more! I like the view magnification. I also appreciate knowing the release is planned for this year. I still want to look now more.
