That would be a welcome surprise! Though the DFA 150-450 is such a brilliant lens, a Tamron clone may not be able to match the quality. Indeed, judging be the reviews I've read, it's good but not in the same class.
I generally gather that the 150-450 is a better lens than the 150-600. But the Tamron is longer and significantly more affordable.

A rebadged Tamron won't be as cheap.

You are correct a rebadge won’t be as cheap but it will still be significantly less expensive than the 150-450 and longer.

At B&H the 150-450 is on sale for $2000 from a list of $2500.

The first generation of the Tamron is listed at $1070 and on sale for $900 to $950. So a rebadged lens might be $1200-1400.

But as I said, it is my hope and certainly not a guess let alone a prediction.

If it turns out to be reality then I might start saving up money.

Oh, my. You need to slap +30% on the initial 3rd party price (2,000 EUR). That would be 2,600+ EUR for a rebadged lens with worse performance than the DFA.

Using street prices which have already dropped for 4 years is foolish. Manufacturers never reference discounted street prices, regardless of wishful consumer thinking.

Hold your horses. You're talking about rebadging the old Tamron, which is no longer in production? That doesn't make any sense.

The only option is the G2 version - $1400 MSRP, add a realistic premium (the 70-210 is $100) and you can get close or even reach the D FA's price.
