It has been a while for a new camera body, hasn't it?

I'm hoping and expecting a DA*16-50 II to part of this. Anything beyond that would be a bonus on the lens front.

2 aps/c lenses with the upcoming aps/c flagship. I guss because there is only a modern aps/c lens 11*11-18mm.

Eh, I would say that anything from the last 10 years counts as "modern". Pentax has the best APS-C lineup out there (or at worst it's on par with Fuji). The DA Limiteds, the 16-85 / 18-135 / 18-50 standard zooms and the 55-300 PLM don't need any update.
But yes, I also guess there will be reissues of the 16-50/2.8 and 50-135/2.8 with better motors, HD coating and probably optical improvements. Bonus points if the wide angle prime for FF gets teased as well...

And only one hour ahead of us here in Perth so we could watch without having to get out of bed early

Europe here: I will be late to the party by 3 or 4 hours, but it's as easy as having breakfast with the news. Gonna make myself a nice mug of coffee and try not to get too excited about the stuff

K-new and DFA*85 isn`t surprise.
Where does it say "surprise"? I'm guessing it's just the K-new and DFA*85.

The English release specifically says "lenses" so there must be something else. Hence the surprise!

On the fragility of "surprise"

From a post of mine in 2015:

A mathematics teacher told his class on the first day of term "There will be a surprise test during class sometime this term".

Now, the students in the class were pretty sharp. Sitting round that afternoon, Adam reasoned "Well, the test can't be on the last day of term, because if it were, we would get to the end of the second last day and then know for sure it was the next day. So it wouldn't be a surprise." Logical.

Continuing the theme, Vera popped up with "But then, it couldn't be on the second last day, because if we got to the end of the third last day without having been given the test, and knowing it couldn't be on the last day, we would know it must be on the second last day." Again, logical.

Finally, Justin applied the mathematical principle of induction to reason similarly that it couldn't be on the third last day, or the fourth, etc. They therefore concluded that there could be no surprise test, and all relaxed.

One day during the term, the test was given. The students were all mightily surprised.

Another Tamron rebrand and a Pentax designed lens for APS-C.

This really my hope rather than I guess but the Tamron would be a 150-600 and the Pentax be a 16-50.

But these are more hopes than guesses and guesses are even weaker than predictions.

Yes, I really do hope there will be one soon.
My wishful thinking and over desirous imagination sees a possibility- to quote:
“Originally Posted by Ricoh Imaging:

Note how it says ”...range of models, including...” Now I don’t think Ricoh has used the word ”model” for lenses (?) and since they said “..including the next flagship APS-c...” I surmise there might be a FF?
Well that is my wish- please, don’t anyone burst my bubble!! 🤩🤩 🤭

I'll probably forget. I'm so satisfied with my KP that I'll probably fall asleep planning to take pictures in the morning with it,
but I'm glad for those waiting for something new, and glad for Pentax {who probably needs more sources of income}.
