(58mm filter, 09 / 08 elements/groups) Samyang AF 18mm 2.8 FE
(67mm filter, 10 / 09 elements/groups) Tamron 20mm 2.8 Di III OSD M1:2
(62mm filter, 12 / 09 elements/groups) Nikon AF 20mm 2.8D
(77mm filter, 11 / 10 elements/groups) Zeiss Batis 18mm 2.8
nope

The front element of the Pentax is larger and the Tamron designed for the short flange distance of a mirrorless camera.

@AfterPentax It is very simple. They developed the lens In house. There is no reasonable argument that they did not develop the lens in house. Repeated claims or speculations they did not develop the lens in house amount to intentional and malicious industrial sabotage.
Bring proof or be quiet. Speculating that a Pentax lens "might" be anything else than a Pentax lens, while having nothing to indicate this, is bashing.
Or at least damaging for the brand, because it fuels the ill intended individuals (and "rumor" sites) everywhere.

By the way, there was a higher similarity between the Pentax D FA* 50mm f/1.4 and the Sigma Art... even the focal length and max aperture matched.
There aren't many reasonable ways to design a lens. You need much more than a vague resemblance, particularly when even the basic specs don't match.

I took it as a lens size comparison and "proof" that the 21 Limited could be f/2 or so with that size.
I would bet on it being very similar to the 28-105 at 28mm, even the new roadmap posted in Lens Roadmap 2020 June - PentaxForums.com shows both being roughly the same length but the barrel of the 21 is wider at the front (probably with a 67mm thread?).

Obviously the optical construction won't have anything to do with any of the others.

It seems that lenses designed for that focal length have similarities in lens barrel, have a look at that batis and ‘remove’ aperture ring from nikkor(should be possible with this logic). That just tells us that it is propably what is needed to achieve approx 20/2,8 lens. That is all. Other suggestions are click bait..That is what I think.

nonsense, stop trying to defend the honor of Pentax. Chivalry proper is no longer a crucial code of conduct and it never applied to camera brands in the first place.
I don't agree. At all.
I'm fed up with people popping here everytime there's a new lens which can't be anything but a sigma or a Tamron.
If it was me, it'd be a motive for admin action.

Perhaps one should look also diameter of that front element and that profile of front in general. AND it should be also(tamron) with it’s hood on. Only thing that remotelly is some what similar is where these lenses are put together. Nothing else is Not even close. Too much time to do these jokes, and just for ” laughs”.

Edit: missing pictures with quite, just go to first page to see the picture, to get the picture.

There isn’t one yet. Althou it looks quite finished, they did say in video, where they presented this lens also that it should be at shelf latest at beginning of 2021 or maybe even end of 2020 with some other things in works.

In the video they said '2021' for the HD Pentax-D FA 21mm ED Limited DC WR, without being more specific, and 'first half of 2021' for the HD Pentax-DA 16-50mm f/2.8 ED PLM AW. It's concerning the latter that they promised to make their best efforts so that its launch date will be close as possible to the KNEW's.

Such a reasoning would be fine, of course, trying to have a guess at its specs by comparing with relatively similar lenses.
But not denying that it's a Pentax.
