I could not imagine any price below 1200 EUR for any new FF limited and even that is on the cheap side.

About the aperture: I expect nice rendering and especially compactness, no large, heavy, "fast" aperture builds for niche clientele. Make it F4 or F3.8 if you want or F2.4 maximum. Faster than F2 would be utter nonsense.

It is an ultra-wide lens after all.

According to ancient writings, an aperture being (1+sqrt(5))/2 = 1.618... (golden ratio) or 1.618^2 = f/2.617 or ((1.618^2) * 2) / 3 = f/1.74528267(2/3 being the inverse of full frame aspect ratio) would unleash more pixie dust, and to achieve the soft transition between sharp and out of focus, like in the Mona Lisa painting.

Well, possible values of price naturally follow the golden number, starting from $1618, and decreasing in steps of 16.18%. You do the math.

which might be significantly back-focused, as the face and hands are the softest part of the image. The background is sharper. OTOH, could just be Gaussian blur applied to those areas, as the rest of the painting is "in focus". Or it could be subject motion, as "L.H.O.O.Q."

Ha, ha. Glad someone got it. Figured it would be OK since it's the title of an actual artwork.

I cant wait for a good review on this lens. It will determine if I will be getting it or not.
I so look forward to reviewing it! I'll certainly try to get my hands on it quickly when it gets released.

I'll be as objective as usual, but I can tel you that, personally, I'm excited about this lens.

Positioning is street shot, so the aperture is not large.

You're probably right, but anyway...

about half of the post on this thread have been trying to guess the aperture value. Can we agree that we'll find out soon, and in the meantime let's remain excited but let's drop the guessing?

Expected, any such lens at f/4 would get crucified in reviews (unfortunately). I still hope for a touch faster than f/2.8, but it's not too critical IMO.

Will we get some news at CP+?

being a Ltd, I'd go for something like f/3.7, or maybe 3.1 if it's a little faster.
