Not yet, not soon, with the new zoom I'll wait for the reviews

BTW, Ricoh Europe lists two DA zooms as out of stock:

the DA* 2.8/16-50mm (expected, a new one is on the way)
the DA 4-5.8/55-300mm.

That new zoom lens on the roadmap may well be a replacement for the latter.

It's probably that they've moved to producing the PLM only.

The Ricoh Imaging Europe homepage shows the K-3 III with the new DA* 2.8/16-50mm, so it may not be that far away from an announcement.
For reviews, it would have been great had they been released together.

No, the new zoom is 70ish - 300ish and FF, it will be a replacement for something like the old FA 80-320 or the Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6. Old 55-300 likely discontinued in favor of the PLM model.

So it does. Hadn't realised that yet. I hope Ricoh will give me a month or so to buffer in the cost, but I do hope it will be released before summer. Fingers crossed.

The da*1650 image has been used by quite a few sites for their k-3 III coverage. Teasing like that I a bit mean. ..

Would be happy if this lens performance makes me regret buying DFA 24-70/2.8.

It's a big lens so I would expect high performance. But I'm also possibly tempted by the DFA 50mm FF. I'll wait for user experiences...

It's probably almost ready to go, maybe there have also been delays related to the parts shortages?

I'm not tempted at all by a mildly telephoto lens for "APS-C" - there is a reason DFA* 50 is a "FF" lens.
In fact, I'm not even entering Adam's "raffle" - I already have at least five unused 50mm lenses.

Is there any update on dimensions and weight for this lens? Sorry I haven't been paying too close attention.

Obviously it is bigger than the previous 16-50, just wondering how much difference.

Fantastic that they updated this lens, long overdue.

It's not far off the 77mm on FF, and a very useful distance for both portraits and landscape. I have several 50s and 55s too, but I don't have an APS-C camera (yet; here's waiting). But I also have 85mm/90mm and it's one of my most frequently used focal lengths.
That is true for FF, it was true for 645 (135/150mm).
But the secret agenda is, of course, that I might go FF with the K-1 III as well. Whether I'll be able to hold on to the K-3 III is uncertain. I can't find my lottery ticket.

I must admit that I'm getting a bit jumpy for this tn get released, even though I won't be able to afford one for a while. I want to know just how it performs!

Curiously, I'm the other way around... I loved the mild telephoto 50mm on APS-C, but I never really got into it for FF... I find the 43mm far more practical than the 50mm, somehow.

Explains why I love the 77mm on the K-1, I guess
