Watch it, they will put one extra point, centered near the top edge, which will be a "cross type cyclist helmet super-tracker point". This will, of course, lead to having even AF points.

Has that theory ever been empirically tested?

I guess it depends on the version of the song.
"In the take one down and pass it around" version we have to know how many people are taking sips.

In the "If one of those bottle should happen to fall" version it won't get any easier to sing it.
