IMO K-7 also (despite the official explanation) came because of 7D. Right.
But later going K5 K3 was stupid.

Just do K7 II, K7 III ...

To be honest, It wouldn't hurt if they simply used one number and just added Mark I, II, III and so on. Lesser headache in thinking about names. If they go for K-3III, like I said, it wouldn't hurt a bit.

Why this fascination with names?
I guess it gives us something to talk about, but quiet for a month would be OK too.

Perhaps they will adopt a date system:
K-3-2020
K-1-2021

That way we will know how old our cameras are.........................

I doubt that anybody in the manufacturing-to-sales chain would want to let a potential buyer know how old a camera is, except when it is very recent, in which case they'd be sure to make that fact known if necessary
