Originally posted by JPT It's not mentioned on the roadmap, but I've noticed a significant gap has opened up in the K-mount lens line-up. There is currently no APS-C wide-angle rectilinear zoom available below the expensive DA* 11-18mm. Speaking of the Japan market . . .
- The Pentax 12-24/4 is discontinued and sold out
- The Sigma and Tamron options are similarly discontinued and unavailable
- That leaves the DA* 11-18, the FE 10-17 or prime alternatives
The difference between 11mm and 10mm is not that much of a gap.
I do have the Sigma 10-20mm variable aperture lens - but the DA* 11-18mm lens was not available then.
Pentax may not see much of a need there.
