About one month after the last one in May (Updated Roadmap - May 2020 - PentaxForums.com) they released a new one.
http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf

Upcoming D FA 21mm Limited and DA* 16-50mm F2.8 are shown with product (prototype?) pictures now.
D FA* 85mm F1.4 ED SDM AW was moved to "Current Line Up".

That "Large Aperture Wide-Angle Single Focus Lens" down next to the D FA 21 Ltd still looks like a replacement for the 31 based only on the focal length that it is centered on. I know we've been told it isn't but that's how it looks from here.

It's indicated in Gold which suggests a Star lens, different series, running alongside with the Limited's in parallel.

They are keeping us guessing, could be anything from 24 to 35
My current thinking is that the 21 Limited is a f/2.4 or f2.8 (probably the latter), the 31/1.8 still holds its own and that is backed up by the 35/2 and 35/2.4 so I'll think they will go 24 f/1.4 for a class leading triumvirate of DFA*s 24 - 50 - 85 supported by the DFA*70-200/2.8. Makes sense to me at any rate. 6Kg of glass and metal

24, 35, 50, 85, 135 would be the ideal progression of DFA* series primes IMHO.

As to what we will get next, only time will tell.

But which will be first Sandy, the 24 or 35?

I agree with Sandy on the overall prime line up. So we have or are getting soon modern, 21, 50 and 85.

That would make the 35 the most logical next lens, in terms of both classic lens line up and filling in the modern prime lens gaps. So I will punt for 35mm.

I am very happy to be wrong and for the new lens to be 24mm, but in terms of wider market and sales prospect I suspect a fast modern 35mm wins.

A 35 ?

They have just revamped the FA 35 to HD 35 coatings its nice I guess.

There don't seem to many prime lenses ( other than 35 and 50 ) at different price / quality points.

Pentax has a long history of producing exemplary 35mm lenses (especially f/3.5 lenses), going back to the tiny Auto-Takumar 35/3.5. They have a DFA*50/1.4 and FA50/1.4 in the catalog* so I see no reason the existing FA35/2 should preclude a fast FF 35mm * lans.

* not considering the APSc lenses

Looking the roadmap now it does actually look that new DFA* would be closer to 35 than 24. It’ll be interesting to see. Anyway. My next ones willbe 21 and that 85. At some point.

Personally, I haven't used anything other than 28mm (and a bit of the fat50) in the last 3.5 years. I had 24/2 but sold it. I have 35s, but do not use them. On one hand I would vote for the 28 but on the other I love the small size of the FA28 and that is not achievable with 1.4 aperture. So I am crossed on this. 24 is too much distortion for me. 35 is too narrow... long live the FA28
