After all, if I remember correctly the main reason Pentax are such a small player in the market these days is due to the fact they dismissed digital as a passing fad that would never overtake traditional film in the world of photography and refused to embrace the technology until it was nearly too late.
Deja-vu anyone?
Pentax was about to make the first proper digital full frame camera in 2001 but sensor tech was just not there... they lost a lot of money in the effort.

Why is that the key phrase? Professionals use the same cameras that enthusiasts use. I've seen a bunch of photographers either with press credentials or clearly being paid to be there (concerts, weddings, demonstrations, political events, you name it) and... their cameras aren't a completely different thing. They are cameras. Bunch of them used crop sensor cameras, even.
