That was supposedly Kodak, except it's false.
It's even more false when you change it to Pentax.
Ahh right sorry, so they don't even have that excuse.

My main argument against the OVF is bad manual focus calibration and fickle AF calibration of the PDAF system. What you see in focus in the OVF is not in focus in the image. For AF and CIF you need to calibrate every time you use a lens because apparently it depends on conditions how much it is out of wack. So what Pentax needs to do is properly calibrate the focussing screen so that is correct out of the box and create a lens calibration feature using live view. I don't think they will do it so my next camera will be mirrorless.
I haven't had these problems with either my Z or my K1(upgraded), or any of my lenses so far. That said, I'm not yet doing much macro work, but I have done a bit and didn't see any problems there.

Not only that, yours is the first post I've seen on the issue. None of the medium format folks have complained about this that I have seen, since 2014.

The question though is whether they are both SD card slots.

So, I still need to view the interview, but I have some comments otherwise.

This webpage and the other video would not have passed muster with me in charge:

There's typos in the text, easily spotted.

Not enough history, needs more emphasis about being the first slr. No mention of all those still usable lenses!

Only East Asians (Japanese) and an attractive white couple. Colossal tone deafness in 2020 for any Euro- American markets. What about the rest of the world????

No stills mixed in with the video---Pentax's strength isn't video. So, have the nice video going, but then have the frames freeze as still shots. This is especially weird using the Spotmatic---nice touch to have it, but...

Not enough(really anything) about the range of DSLR options available. No medium format at all.

Nothing about Pentax's incredible value proposition.

Not much about the other aspects of ergonomics.

And more, but I have a deadline to meet.....

Looks slick, until you look critically.

Maybe you haven't seen that many posts then. I have been getting many more keepers since I started using live view for manual focussing on the K-1.

This topic will be become nicely debated very quickly I think. Again I enjoyed the insight, I welcome and agree with Pentax's positioning statement. All good from my personal perspective. Looking forward to next week's video.
I haven't had time to watch the video because yay work, but I'll give it a whirl in front of dinner probably... I have, however, read the new webpage and I really appreciate that Pentax makes a statement that aligns very well with my own ideas about photography.

Now if that 21 Limited embodies said philosophy, I'll happily get a silver one new

I watched it, and wondered, what did I learn that I didn't know before outside of them announcing that they will announce the new flagship APS-C on 7/22. Wonder why they made this.

No, they will not announce the camera next week. They will talk about it, present it, but that's all.
Could be a leftover from what they intended to do in spring. Could be the start of a teaser campaign. We'll see.

Anyway, we're not worse with these videos than without.

All mirrorless demands can now go to other brands. We learned Pentax has fully embraced OVF. We learned that if a person was impatiently waiting for a MILC, they can go for other options now, if seriously required. I personally learned that Ricoh is doubling-down on OVF/Limiteds and there will be some fun-to-use cool tech oriented toward what I personally want out of camera.

Exactly my thoughts. Pentax has officially announced to everybody that they will work on DSLRs exclusively. Period.

At 29:14 it shows that information about the new aps-c will be released at 7pm JST July 22
Hopefully they reveal actual specs by then, but my guess is that it will be more of a teaser than anyrhing else.

I bet this is the reason for delay (along with COVID)...
caught wind of upcoming storage usage and wanting to implement in K-New.
Canon EOS-1D X III announced Oct 24, 2019...
Nikon D6 announced Feb 12 2020...
Both have CFexpress slots.

That in itself would really raise the price of admission - CFexpress cards running >$100 each. Maybe that's why some (all?) of the current dual card implementations have SD as the second slot.

I really think that Pentax is in good hands - seems like they've identified their niche and are going to stay faithful to it. A good business decision.
