The Sigma, Sony and Pentax's overall metered samples all look good to me. okay i enlarged the images...they didn't look too good anymore LOL but nothing a little PS can't fix. The others were just too bright for me although there was much less noise.

Could someone please translate the conclusion?

I've been in that park, and I've taken that photo. Weird.

My own test showed unacceptable barrel distortion at 10mm.

Looking at the glass that they used, this is really more of a *lens* test. Camera tests need to be done with top-quality primes at optimum aperatures.

He used f8 for all of the pictures, so I think it is a fair comparison.

No, because the Pentax kit is *never* great at the extreme wide end, at any aperture, and people are looking at details at the edges to make resolution judgements.

I second this. Who th* fu** cares about a kit lens comparison test?

Au contraire, mon capitain. It is a common misconception that a high f-stop figure heals lens flaws. It doesn't. Good glass typically resolves best around f/4. And with a kit lens, off center resolution, CA, vignetting, distortion are all still bad at f/8.
