So, DFA70-300/4.5-5.6SR, eh? Let's see when it will materialize.

In lens shake reduction... An 85 with a simplified rear group, or simply an alternative design that did not make it?

18-100mm F2.8??? Must be huge even for aps-c

I'm definitely interested in the 70-300 variable aperture zoom. Wonder if it too, will get the PLM treatment.

In each lens patent there are several possible implementations, sometimes with quite different focal lengths.

A 70-300 FF, SR, PLM gets my money. I'm willing to go to 650g instead of the 450 of the PLM there.

I sure do hope so. I hope PLM speed will be the new standard.

I'm interested that they're considering zoom ranges more normally associated with consumer lenses, where they seemed tome moving in the other direction. Looks the APS-C line is still where they look to pick up their volume sales despite FF becoming the norm for Cankony.

The 70-300 is the one important FF lens they were missing around that range; I guess they saw that many people were buying the 55-300 as makeshift FF lenses so they want to grab those sales?
Adding a new feature like SR on a consumer grade lens first is an interesting decision, but they did the same with the PLM.

I don't think they'll make a new 70-200* - that's just one example for the 70-300 patent.

* maybe later, after other gaps are filled.

Who knows. DA 55-300 had several different incarnations in relatively short period of time, and 70-200/2.8 could really use in lens IS and ring af motor.
