I see where you are coming from and it is a fair point.
However, if the product is right, take the K-1 (II) for example, even conservative Pentaxians pull all pennies together to make a purchase.
Also, the K-01 was a deliberate attempt to widen the market, i.e., Pentaxians weren't the target but rather customers who had been shopping elsewhere. All the "hammering" that occurred on pentaxforums was unnoticeable by the real target audience. The K-01 just couldn't convince as a product; I don't see any customers or "nay sayers" at fault here.
I'm very glad the K-new was designed in the spirit of a classic Pentax camera where form follows function (unlike in the Newson design). I'm unlikely to purchase one as I'm waiting for the FF camera update, but I hope it has a lot of success among the APS-C community.
