Again, Mistral, I've seen your methodology - reconciling publicly published CIPA figures with annual company reports. It gives different results to the Nikkei figures, I assume?

We are not given the methodology of the company they outsourced to come up with them. It's unlikely to me that companies offered breakdown data to them that they don't dare even mention to shareholders. CIPA data, for instance, is confidential, and the companies would not continue to supply data if they felt it was leaked.

And that A7s are just full frame NEXs? It's a design flaw in that the mount was designed for APS-C.

They changed to the name “Alpha” about the time they added EVF.
My point was that they became successful when they added EVF, just as the Canon “EOS-M” series did;
Pentax apparently decided “MILC not for us” - different responses.

I can only assume that shipment = unit sold? Because in supply chain a shipment may also mean:
- bulk shipment
- intercompany shipment
- consignment shipment
- return shipment
- repair shipment
- marketing shipment
- promotion shipment

We have that problem right now, I reckon with the outstanding DFA*50 and DFA*85. As incredible as they are, how many of us actually own them?

The characteristic stubborness, the resistance to change and the mainstream is a two-edged sword, Class A.

I see where you are coming from and it is a fair point.

However, if the product is right, take the K-1 (II) for example, even conservative Pentaxians pull all pennies together to make a purchase.

Also, the K-01 was a deliberate attempt to widen the market, i.e., Pentaxians weren't the target but rather customers who had been shopping elsewhere. All the "hammering" that occurred on pentaxforums was unnoticeable by the real target audience. The K-01 just couldn't convince as a product; I don't see any customers or "nay sayers" at fault here.

I'm very glad the K-new was designed in the spirit of a classic Pentax camera where form follows function (unlike in the Newson design). I'm unlikely to purchase one as I'm waiting for the FF camera update, but I hope it has a lot of success among the APS-C community.
