Sorry. Just clumsy quoting. I was saying this more in general, not at you. Someone mentioned how cheaply you can get a K-3 these days, but is completely different.

It doesn't appear to have an on board flash.

I don't care how boring the name is. This camera looks really exciting.

Finallyyyy!

Apparently they are still using SAFOX system. That's strange, by looking patent it was more an RGB IR Sensor (like the one used fore metering, 307K)... I'm curious about how it's really now.

That may be due to the redesigned pentaprism, or (I hope) onboard GPS.

I wondered why they avoided calling a DSLR the K2, and I discovered that there was a film camera which used the K2 name. It still would have made sense to call it a K2 I think, even if they had to call it a K2D to distinguish it from the film camera. PS I think it looks like it will be a great camera too! I just wish I could place a pre-order now!

The PRICE???

Upper 200k Yen....i took it as closer to 300k then which puts it as by far the most pricey crop body.

Looks like it;ll be great but a high price will turn some away.

So looks like the 26mp BSI sensor and having used it for the best part of 2 years, all considering this body will be pleased.Throw in a new AU and I'm sure it will have top notch performance.

It's just a name, they use SDM on many lenses that actually have different motors. It could be an improvement of the last SAFOX, or it could be totally new. Of course when you see a patent, it may be years before it is actually manufactured, or it may never be used.

I think it's used. it's talking about RGB and IR for focusing. Like you said, it's just a name. We will see with time. It's just curiosity.

The folks that wanted a touch screen should be happy. I could see that being useful on live view, especially the touch focus, curious how that works with fat fingers like mine, I wonder if it will work with a stylus.

Hopefully they will have a video showing it in action.
