The K10D/K20D had an SR lever as well.
It was a unique selling point back then, so I imagine the SR lever was as much display as practical feature. Just the same, I think I prefer it to menu diving even with the convenience of the Info screen on later models.

A dedicated button does make it convenient to change settings while holding the camera at eye level. I wonder if this is also going to be a configurable button?

The Shake Reduction was inserted in K10 and K20, in the *.ist there was no stabilization function. Because the electronics and development phases were still immature.

In K3III, I would like a sort of frame on the sides of the viewfinder that allows the joystick to change the exposure modes,
and alternatively the selection of times and apertures without detaching the eye from the viewfinder and to concentrate only on the subject.

Otherwise why this mystery and this long research on the viewfinder? Just because it has a wider vision than all other APS standards?

In fact, the first Pentax camera with in-body image stabilisation a.k.a. SR was the K100D, announced in May 2006. The K10D was announced a bit later the same year, in September.

I still have it, but it's not in use as my six and eight year olds has graduated to a K-5. Mine was a lemon with regards to batteries. Real picky, only lithiums gave reliable performance.

Pentax design has improved from then. This one is as ugly as a Nikon....

Having owned the camera, I don't remember even once thinking it was ugly, or comparing it to a Nikon. I actually do not buy cameras because of how they look.

It's all about the images.

I don't know about the Nikon comparison; I'm getting a weird pseudo-Canon vibe off this one. I do agree that newer Pentax models look better, though I also agree that image quality and functionality always wins out over camera body aesthetics. After all, you can't see the body's design if you're looking through the viewfinder.

There's a lot more information here.

26 megapixel sensor, interesting.

The video is kind of funny, they act as if more information is coming soon, but then if you look at their spec sheet it basically reveals everything about the camera.
it's translated :-) so what do you epxect
