It's same for the LM-EA7 and its clones. A7 series doesn't offer access to the phase detect system.

I echo your question Steve ^^^^^^^^^ As with a lot of adapters, if they add a layer(s) of glass to the optical path, it usually isn't good news. With the adapter that thick as pictured, I would think it would HAVE to have something in there, otherwise you would loose infinity focus and it would act like a (25mm? or more from the looks of it?) extension tube.
Eric

Looks very similar to regular tube adapter to me:

Yes, of course, why couldn't we? In the end it's the same sensor size (and sometimes the very same sensor) placed at the same distance from the lens mount thanks to the adapter.

Doesn't the Alpha 6600 have phase-detect AF? Oddly enough in the last few days I was looking at the a6600 and wishing I could use it with my existing Pentax lenses.
(I checked the specs and it says that it has a hybrid phase detect/contrast detect AF system)

PS Maybe I should have read this:

It doesn't look any longer than the K&F Concept PK to NEX adapter I currently use (back to the discussion on flange length). I'd be surprised if they designed it with glass, considering it'd be suitable on APS-C Sony cameras with APS-C or FF Pentax Lenses, or FF Sony with FF (and a select few APS-C) Pentax Lenses.

The only rationale I'd see for making one with glass would be for 'speed booster' type approaches for APS-C or M4/3 type cameras.

Given the current market for AF adapters, I'm sure the price will be upwards of £150, probably towards the £200 mark. That said, it's coloured me intrigued.

The first generation A7 has no phase focus with open transfer

If it works and isn't very poor quality, I bet you can add at least another hundred to the price.

This thread is four pages long, the one talking about the K3 III specs is in the 30s.

Far from it, let's see, about as far as Betelgeuse if you're walking?
For me, it's just a piece of useless &^@# which does absolutely nothing.
For others, it's just something that would be somewhat useful - if it would work. And it might work after a firmware update or two. Maybe.

If glassless and reasonably priced, very exciting indeed. I have had poor luck so far with manual adapters to a full-spectrum A7rii being light tight. So far 2 Fotodiox adapters (including 1 with aperture control), a K&F adapter, and a Gobe adapter all allow IR light into the body. The only adapter working well is the Fotodiox tilt/rokr for 67 lenses which works perfectly. Hoping this well made and functions as advertised.
