Ricoh Imaging is preparing a new 360° web-service

As per their official japanese website, Ricoh Imaging is showing us how powerfull "360°" solutions can be :

1- Two examples of virtual galeries are shown here :

360°?????????? | RICOH IMAGING

2- Each virtual visit uses "linear corrected" 360 global frames, both "coupled" with an extendable map representing the exhibition space, and with "widgets" allowing direct selection and display of any of the presented items :

https://ricoh-imaging.theta360.biz/t/9512816c-052d-11eb-9d3f-0a504ee1e990-1

This seems to be a very usefull B-to-B potential diversification, with several applications like in the art exhibition and real estate businesses.

And for sure, no pandemic threat (rather booster actually) to such a new service !

The business model could be based on standard monthly or annual subscription.

What are your thoughts ?

Any interest for enthusiast and/or professionnal photographers ?

With the growth of on line due to the world conditions some businesses could benefit from this type of platform to work with.

As for an enthusiast based on cost it might be a little over the top.

I might have to point a relative at this as I bet he could make use of it. Also it might help get him to move away from his canon.

For me the virtual gallery is a bit slow to load, but otherwise looks cool.

I'll take this moment to mention that I am still really hoping to see Theta Z1 versions of a waterproof housing and 3D microphone attachment such as those available for the Theta V.

I can see usage for real estate and business use, but I don't get it for enthusiast use, too gimmicky for me. I must be in the minority because it seems a lot of these must be sold.
