My "Super Program" was kitted with a 50mm lens, so perspective was chained to framing.
My Canon EOS Elan was kitted with a 28-80mm - perhaps AF made zoom more feasible - and I found myself standing closer to the subject to get a more 'intimate' view.
At tourist railroads - where there is little clutter near the steam locomotive servicing facilities - I find myself in the way of other photographers because I tend to stand closer to the action.
All of this difference of preference is one of the factors that feeds into "best" photographs, and will feed our choice and use of lenses.
