Their marketing of all the "attention to details" leaves me a little flat when they overlook something big like the SD cards. Olympus did the same thing, right before the end... DOOOOM
In Olympus' defence, the OM-D E-M1X has the dual UHS-II slots and seems to get all the same perks as the E-M1 III.
As for Pentax, I suspect the K-3 III Mark 2 will have dual CFexpress or SD Express card slots (since XQD seems to be dead). It's really the one obvious and easy way to further supercharge this camera. Based on the published specs, even the UHS-II slot seems to be creating a bottleneck when you push continuous shooting to its limits. Part of me wishes they'd realised that those willing to pay the announced launch price will also be happy to purchase a pair of CFexpress cards. The SD Express standard may have been too new to still receive consideration, and I don't know how those are/will be priced (not sure anybody really knows at this point). Perhaps Pentax is avoiding CFexpress for space reasons, but it does play to one of Pentax' weaknesses at this point, the never-clearing buffer. So perhaps we'll see SD Express rather than CFexpress, and that's the reason it isn't included in this iteration of the Pentax flagship.
