Very nice and clean, fast up-loading ... easy to see the product line.

A very badly needed upgrade IMHO.

It's about time they updated it. It has been needing a fresh coat of paint for some time now.

The facelift was much needed, although the new design feels a few years old stylistically. Most importantly, though, it seems much easier to get to things now — no more drilling through six levels of menu to get to lenses.

I like it, but it doesn't have the wow factor like PPG

They've got the DA* 60-250 on there already, or is this old news?

Agreed that it's totally better than the old design, but I would've at least gone with one of those flash things that cycle through content at intervals, just so they could also showcase their other products in the big box now occupied by the K20D.

I think the Pentax Japan site still has it over the USA site, but good update nonetheless.

It's undeniably better, but why didn't they use the whole page instead of half of it? The idea behind marketing and selling is to capture the attention of the public. The other half of the page could be used for various pictures taken with their cameras or pictures of the cameras themselves.

I think it looks OK and a lot better than the previous version.

The bad: in my browser sometimes the menu bar lowers when I change categories (e.g. first time when I press Lenses, Accesories, etc).

The good: they posted the first 2 DA*60-250 sample images. The bad inside the good is that they look more like "art" rather than something we can extract any lens quality cluess from.

Regards,
Radu

its excellent! bout time pentax updated their website. I think its very refreshing and is a good thing to help promote the brand. I agree that Pentax Japan website is far superior but Im sure glad our US site has been updated. the only gripe I have is that they haven't updated the webstore along with the rest of the site. it seems as though they dropped pentaxslr.com and combined the two sites...

That seems like a really good idea. Pentaxslr.com was basically a hack to get around the fact that the main website was so hard to use.

It doesn't. But I easily trade wow for content. wow is fine for an art gallery like PPG which doesn't have to provide any functionality -- which it doesn't, btw...

I'm glad that the new pentaximaging.com site contains good information and is easy to navigate and is searchable by Google and product pages are book-markable... All of this was given up for wow by too many web sites out there. If anything, they should add MTF figures like Sigma does.

The new website is a big improvement. Now they have just have to get the cameras into stores so people can see them.

I've got virus (Trojan) here when scrolling photos at lenses page. Be careful!
