I've just read on another forum from someone who tends to be pretty reliable that the 60-250 is delayed yet again, now to the fall of 2009.
I normally detest Sigma, but the 70-200/2.8 is starting to look like a contender.
If that is true, Pentax will get some hard beating on that.... I am again very happy to have bought the old Sigma 70-200/2.8 years ago and the 50-500 recently - both very good lenses within sensible limits.

Yes if this is true then Pentax has truly screwed up with this lens....

But SRS Microsystems in the UK are having a Pentax day at the end of february where they will be demoing this lens, the DA* 55mm and the ringflsh. If Pentax were going to delay this presumably won't go ahead.

This lens is available here in SA and is very expensive.
The 50-135 retails for R 12 000 and the 60-250 R 17 500!
Surely the 50-135 coupled with a 1.7 TC will be the more cost effective way to go?

Um, are you going by someone willing to take your money on an order, or knowing of someone who has physically received it?

There are many places which would take a pre-order over here, too. I wouldn't bet my money on that.

Hi chaps

I just saw it listed on a very popular local site and the only thing I saw was the price and immediately lost interest!

Didn't really think whether they had it in stock.

They also have the FA 31 1.8 listed as a matter of fact
