Thanks for the link! The hyper-program looks cool. That will make it much easier to switch from program mode to Aperture priority and Shutter priority.

I like the idea of a third wheel to control either ISO or exposure compensation too.

The camera might not look very different on the surface, but it's clear that they have looked really carefully into how to improve the user experience.

I used to use P mode predominantly, but changed to TAv a few years ago. This will deliver the convenience of the former and the power of the latter. Nice. And M mode is thrown in as a bonus!

I have always felt that the third e-dial is a strength of the K-1 /KP external controls.

I think this will help those new to the world of DSLR'S or perhaps even Pentax. They can start in the Program mode and as they get a little more comfortable with the camera, can start to try the other settings without changing the normal settings dial.
If they lose their way, one push of the Green button and they are back to "P" mode and can start again and not get flustered (if their knowledge is not great). As a predominantly Equine Event Photographer, this probably won't be of much use to me but
more for street photographers or perhaps landscape photographers who suddenly spot some wild life whilst out photographing.

The same hyper program behavior you can achieve in K-1, using P mode. You can choose ISO on the third wheel and then change it with forth wheel

Not quite the same. The new camera will be able to switch from P to Tv or Av or TAv or M without moving the mode dial off the P setting. The K1 can shift from P to Tv or Av mode only.

I found the Hyper-P mode a great new invention when it was introduced 30 years ago. I used it a lot on my Z1 film camera. Today I use it rarely, but there will be situations where it will come in handy.

Ricoh-imaging.eu. "Coming soon ...". I guess they must expect to have stock in Europe ready for the release.

This is a nice touch to the ergonomics! I should reconsider my habits and maybe use P-mode more often, especially as some features, like face detection in LV and some other AF-functions seem to be tied to P mode exclusively.
