Pure speculation on your part.
Ah, see the announcement “the judgment that it will take some time to achieve high performance and high quality suitable for the APS-C flagship model, we have decided to release it. I decided to change it.” I speculate from here...

The camera has been sent for certification. They’re not doing any redesign on it. This is purely down to getting the quality of parts that they were planning to use at a sufficient rate to produce the cameras. (For instance, not suddenly having to go the cheap route on something crucial like, I don’t know, part of the aperture control.)
Well stated!!

If you want a “flippy” LCD, get a KP tomorrow - the K-3iii is not going to change while they wait for parts to arrive {then they would have to order a new case and would just have another thing to wait for}

Agreed - an unknown date does not equate to forever.

Thats a google translation......read the english version that @stevebrot posted. its pretty clear that there is a supply chain problem and they don't want sub par part that will create problems for customers down the road.

Where are you getting "$2500 tag or even higher" from?
It was estimated based on the "high 20,000 yen" figure which was stated in one of the Pentax videos. However, we really can't make any assumptions based on the pricing in Japan. My experience has been that the Japanese prices are the highest in the world, and Japanese enthusiasts will pay a premium price to get their hands on the latest thing at release. They won't be able to price it too close to the K1ii. All we know is that it will be somewhere between the release prices of the KP and the K1ii. I think it's a shame that people are so quick to criticise based on speculation rather than fact.

Steve, My Friend, it seems that the doom and gloom purveyors always have to come out at the most opportune time to shed a little darkness on everything. Instead of keeping an open mind about something like this they take advantage of the situation to inject as much negativity as they can. it's getting very tiring.

It is not speculation.. Apparently, K-3 iii launch price is to match or be higher than Nikon or Canon APS-c flagship D500 or Canon 7Dii. 25000 upper is reasonable for this goal...

- Pentax K-1 Mark II - 254,000 yen
- Pentax K-3 Mark III (expected) - 250,000 to 299,000
- Nikon D500 - 259,000 yen
- Fujifilm X-T4 - 225,000 yen
- Fujifilm X-Pro3 - 236,000 yen
- Canon 90D - 162,000 yen
- Canon 7D Mark II - 225,000 yen
- Sony a6600 - 176,000 yen

For the prices in yen,
I quoted from The price of the K-3 III (context/speculation, not inside info) - PentaxForums.com

Okay, it is still speculation and canon 7d ii and d500 actually launched below $2000 in US

Pretty disappointing for sure, but 99% sure that this is the global chip shortage at play. Really causing a ton of havoc across the tech industry.

For ex., Canon was going to debut a new body at CP+, but looks like that's also delayed: New Canon camera delayed?! | Digital Camera World

Where is it apparent that the K-3III launch price is to match or be higher than Canon or Nikon APS-C flagships? What source are you using for your assumptions? Please post your information so we all can read it and reach the same conclusions you have reached.

Everyone heard 20000 yen upper (25000-30000 Yen) from official Pentax (Mr. Takahashi as President of Ricoh Imaging) and it is higher than Canon/Nikon APS-C flagship launch price... If you want a link, I quote here. For the video, check 9:47...

That was not a firm price, I remember Takahashi-san saying the expected price not the price will be.......quite a bit of difference.

Dealers in Germany hinted a 1900€. In your words this would fit with the "subpar" features of this flagship. I absolutely don't see any point in deriving speculation on the performance of the camera on pure guesswork.

The good thing is: your "speculation" will still soon be tested against the real release price. I make a note: starjedi is convinced the relase price will for sure be 2500-3000$. Let's chack back later.

Edit: the same german dealer also mentioned a delayed availability in shops. He expects it to be there in April.

My statement here is that if the specification changes to 30fps and 4K 120p , the price will be $2500- $3000.... Let's wait and see
