Here is the product page for the Japan Ricoh store.

HD PENTAX-FA 43mm F1.9 Limited
Edit: Link gone. The page was taken down
Price 79,110 including tax

The photos are rather uninteresting, since the only difference seems to be the HD on the inscription.

Did the old ones have rounded aperture blades? The page for 43mm mentions this in the spec, along with HD and SP coatings.

The database doesn't mention it, and having rounded blades wouldn't have been nearly as much of a "thing" back then as it is now.

Excellent news. Not everyone already has the FA limited trio, those lenses are legendary, have the famous pixie dust characteristic of the Pentax look.

When I search for ヴィリジアン, I get links to an apparel shop called Viridi-anne, which sells fairly plain colored clothing, and a wine, which is a deep green color. The J-Limited color could be one of those. I have no idea what LX75 metallic would be.

I think HD replaces both ghostless and smc coatings one the FA 35 make over. I wonder if the FALtd make overs will also collapse the coatings down to HD+SP only?

Same price, apparently. 78K¥ for the SMC.

Veridian is a shade of green (think of verdegris on copper and bronze statues). Sounds nice. J may indicate that they will only be released in Japan though.

my guess is, and it is a WAG only, that the result will be very similar to the difference be\tween the HD/SMC DA Limiteds

considering the most recent AIV lenses with the most modern SMC coatings as opposed to the earlier MIJ versions with the SMC available at the time

[ keep in mind that the HD DA did change the shape of the aperture blades ]

I think I will keep my FA set ( MIJ ) of limiteds and my SMC DA set of limiteds and let you folks go for the " latest and brightest "

( I still can't get my mind around a " zoom " limited )

'Viridian is a blue-green pigment, a hydrated chromium oxide, of medium saturation and relatively dark in value. It is composed more of green than blue. Specifically, it is a dark shade of spring green, so it is the colour between green and teal on the colour wheel, or, in paint, a tertiary blue–green colour. Viridian takes its name from the Latin viridis, meaning "green"'

Viridian - Wikipedia

In French, we name it 'viridien' and also 'vert (green) Guignet' after the painter Adrien Guignet.
