You can tell they were styled by the same person who did the K-30 and the WG series compacts.

Note the little AOCO logo inlaid in the grip.

Also, all that business on top of the prism is going to be removable. If it is like the KP J-Limited, there may be an AOCO logo underneath.

J does not stand for Japan in this case. It is supposed to stand for Joker (in a pack of cards). However, the KP J was only ever sold in Japan. So zapp's eyes will probably be spared from ever seeing one in real life.

Wow, those are ugly. It's one thing to warm over a camera with only an external make-over, it's another to do so in such an ugly way. Yuck.

I guess it's not surprising that people still shooting with DSLRs in 2021 tend toward conservatism (not political!), but there's a strong 1915 Henry Ford vibe in the reactions to Pentax' creativity: you can wish to have your camera in any color you want, just so long as it's black.

This design is dangerously close to Hasselblad Lunar.

It hasn't compromised the grip's shape nearly as much as the Lunar, though. It's closer to the Hassy HV in terms of change scope (without the not-inconsequential detail of doubling the retail price ).

Honestly if I had some more bags of money I'd be looking hard at the LX75 or even the Rouge/Viridian. Make the camera loud and proud like its shutter, darn it!

Other than the prism cover thing, those look pretty good to me. I especially like the rubber grip material with the dimpled pattern.
I am with you there. What is that overhang about. Maybe to keep the rain off the non WR 40mm limited. I would find room for the LX75 or the veridian.

It looks to me like that prism cover is detachable same as it was for KP J Limited.

The Black and Gold and the LX75 would look pretty nifty if that atrocious prism cover (cover) is removeable. That big ugly cover is way "over the top".

I looked it up, and apparently there were no silver Model Ts. Although it appears that the original 1908-1914 units were only available in gray, green, blue, and red. After those wild and unrestrained days of youth Ford reconsidered and almost all Model Ts from 1914-25 were black. Ford was a strange mix of manufacturing innovation and an almost worshipful nostalgia. Anyone interested should read the book Fordlandia, about his quixotic efforts to build a naively idealized 1870s community in the Amazon jungle to produce rubber.

Ford's colors mirrored Pentax to some degree, where 10 years ago you could easily get a K-30 in a dizzying variety of hues but now the only non-black models (aside from these very limited special editions) are silver.

This Pentax K-1 J-limited with its ferocious top cover looks like a re-incarnation of a Japanese samurai from the Udo era.

Frankly, the extended top looks more than a little stupid. But that's just my opinion.
I trust it's removable?
