Unless it's Sony with E-Mount cameras, took them years to start even reading the memo

Sony seems to have a knack for coming up with ergonomically nightmarish products.

I don't know of this was questioned before:

Are they going to be MIJ or AIV ?

The reason I ask is because some people will not be happy if they are AIV ... they think that the MIJ is "better".
Look in the Marketplace and you will often see some "wanted" ad's specifying "MIJ".

Ricoh Imaging don't have any factory in Japan anymore.

I suspect that the k-1II J is a Japan only model. Pentax commonly has variations that are only available in Japan like the laquered version of the 645Z or the infrared version of the 645Z. There were versions of the LX that were only sold in Japan. Not sure why. Maybe that's why the announcement is in Japanese only.
These aren't even Pentax proper models. J limited is a different company that customises Pentax gear and sells accessories. The guy behind the company is or was a Pentax employee so there are connections but it's not Pentax.

Please excuse my ignorance, but it's been quite some time since I've visited the forums. The K mount hasn't changed for the limited's at all, has it? These new updated lenses should still be able to be thrown on the old film bodies, right?

Correct. As far as I can tell, these new FA Limiteds differ only in the lens coatings (HD vs SMC) and maybe some minor changes to the shape of the aperture blades.

They will be operationally identical to the old versions.

Of course, if you order the current version, you can have it in a day or two... instead of April...

I guess someone could be in a big hurry...

"completely round-shaped diaphragm to produce a natural, beautiful bokeh (defocus) effect from open aperture to F4" ... don't know if that's the same as before or not

Here is a promotional video they have just posted.

There are couple of videos about the collaborating photographers on this page too.

Any more photos on this page from Yaotomi (a retailer), including how it looks with the two (!) covers removed. There is an AOCO mark on the prism, as with the KP J.
