So not worth upgrading, but good that we have a cheaper version now that is as good as it was.

Have you perhaps done the same testing with the 43? I would think that's the one that stands to gain more from the new coating...
I only had a chance to grab the 31, but your suggestion makes sense

Indeed, and no need to upgrade my Made in Japan FA ltd's. The money is needed elsewhere...
In my case, budget's all dedicated to the D FA 21

My heart says DFA21, my brain says DA*16-50/2.8 PLM, but my wallet reminds me that I have to pay for the K-3 III first...

a video (in Japanese) by Keita Sasaki (which we may know from a few videos from Ricoh) on the new HD 43mm Limited.

These are now available to order from B&H. (I had a stock alert set for the 31mm just for giggles.) Adorama still shows pre-order.

That is (unless Pentax reveal a lens that really, really surprises me in a "you didn't know you wanted this, but you do" way) the thing that's next on the list after the D FA 21... depending on how it looks like, of course.

Which could be the DFA* 1.4/35mm, of which little is heard in recent days, but which is on the roadmap after all.

I probably wouldn't care too much for that one, actually . Maybe for astro, but I wouldn't be willing to drop the amount of money that such a lens would cost...

Speaking about the roadmap. I am waiting for "cheap" 70-300 FF lens if it is WR and has PLM style focusing.

Neither would I... these days that is. Many years ago I would have. Now, a good 28mm (which is notoriously absent in the line-up) or the 31mm would be preferred.
I don't expect that 1.4 lens to be 28mm, but if it isn't 35mm, that would be a happy surprise.

The rationale hemisphere prevailed and I ordered only the black HD 31/1.8, painfully letting go on the limited K1II plus silver HD 31/1.8 fantasy. Oh well, now focus on actual photography.
