It looks amazing! I don't want to crank the ISO up that high, but I can't wait to see how 1600 ISO or 3200 ISO from the K3iii compares with the K3.
You should probably get some experience with the K-3iii before saying too much.
I’d had my KP for just a couple of months before I gained enough confidence in it that if ISO12000 is needed, then that is what I use.

I don't currently go over ISO 1600 on my K3, but 3200 or 6400 would be nice to have. If they were usable, I'd be able to set say f8 as the default aperture with the DFA 150-450 and still get a bearable shutter speed.
I have seen a lot of photos in other forums using other brands at ISO 6400 with good results. I don't know how much post processing was required, but the amount of detail in the images seems surprisingly good.
There's also the statement by Pentax that the image quality is improved at low ISO, so I want to see what they means.

You needed the amplifier that went up to 11?

Wouldn’t it be nice to walk in a store and buy a K3iii with 16-50 right now. Even stores are closed these days.

I'd settle for being able to order one online.

Finally! That will surely quell all the complaints we've had on this forum.

New generation Pentax! This explain that thing said from Japanese magazine that they said it kept focus in eyes pretty well. This is enough IMO to close up the gap between MILC as the video things will be too. Really exciting to see what it will be. But these things sounds very good and my K-1 want company(as well as it wait to be retired by next gen K-1) I don’t need eye af in general, like it has been done by others, but I want more consistent AF and this sounds like it is just that and more AF hold sounds great too!

interessting video !

But when i have a deeper look on the section view at min: 3:50, it looks like the camera really has no internal GPS Modul. There was the hope, that they just forget it in the specs, but when i look at that huge pentaprism, it looks like there is not enough space for some other components like gps. lets hope, that it is possible to do some astro tracing and geo-tagging with the smartphone gps location.

best regards,
Michael

The sample comparisons between K-3III and K-1II makes me think that maybe in the future if I will be blessed with extra cash, I'd get one or two. Who knows. I'm more of an image quality guy than a guy who cares about other perks like video and etc. Great to see such improvement.

Nice high iso performance!

A detail Pentax should steal from Fuji is the top lcd that shows current settings even when the camera is off. That should have been a Pentax innovations. Simple but super useful.

I was watching a talk where the photographer used eye AF and animal eye AF (Sony A7Riii) and the results were enough to make me believe it is important to take you on to the next level of realism and clarity in the images. I am still very much in love with my KP, and my old K3 but am beginning to wonder if the adage about investing in glass has a challenger. As I will be enjoying it vicariously, for a while at least, I can't wait to see what it is capable of in the hands of PF members.

The K-3iii even goes up to 12 (fps)!

Is that 9 f/2.8 flux AF points like the center point on the K-1? Because that would mean a LOT for me...

I might have to start saving for the inevitable K-1iii.
