Pentax K-1 II J Limited Concept Movie

Interesting! Thanks for the background. I bought a K-30 on eBay this year thinking it was pretty ugly looking, but have really come around to appreciating the look and it's ergonomics.

My understanding is it will only be released for the Japanese market.

While I admit I don't find these custom K1 appealing to my taste, I think it's marketing genius from Ricoh. On DPReview these, a small brand like Pentax gets as many as half the amount of comments that more popular brands get. Who said Pentax marketing isn't good?

but Japanese merchants sometimes sell through eBay - perhaps Amazon {I got my "Q" '01 lens from a Japanese merchant, when I couldn't get it from a US source} -
so perhaps you can get it ,,,,,, but it won't be inexpensive.

I have seen new KP-J on eBay. You wouldn't get any warranty but if you really wanted the camera..... They were about 50% more than the standard KP

For 3300+ , I wouldn’t consider .... but the black and viridian versions are super fun. This Japan -only thing is a bit annoying I think...

It makes me wonder if they do plan to have a replacement soon for K1 II. Maybe not. Not so keen on spending > $ 3300+ for soon to be replaced model, no matter how cool looking. Based on previous limited edition level, I doubt it will increase in value let along holding where it's at. At the end of the day it does take the same quality pictures. I wish they come with a version where it does not have the Pentax logo on the forehead.

Collectors are willing to pay for a uniquely attired model.
They pay for looks, not for function, but that will always be the issue.

Based on previous limited edition level, I doubt it will increase in value let along holding where it's at. At the end of the day it does take the same quality pictures. I wish they come with a version where it does not have the Pentax logo on the forehead.
