I can't say what he actually said, but it was at least translated to "we expect that we will develop Mark IV and Mark V models in the future." So to me it doesn't seem like they are planning the next generation ... yet.

I don't mind paying for it. Getting to use it would be enough of a birthday present!
Same here! Money is burning a hole in my pocket. Just need Pentax to give me a mechanism to spend it now.

Yes. Clearly they are working on the assumption that they will be making K-mount DSLRs for many years to come. Any speculation to the contrary is just that - speculation.

Another interesting question, which won't be resolved any time soon, is whether when the MkIv comes it will be possible to upgrade the MkIII to the MkIV spec. Given that it was Wakashiro-san who had the idea of the K-1 upgrade service, I would kind of expect the K-3 III to be designed in such a way that an upgrade is possible.

Anyway, I'm glad they put English subtitles on this. It's quite informative.
Yes, that would be really nice and possibly an incentive to buy the MkIII rather than put off the purchase!

Hopefully this means the release date is soon?
Ive been in contact with Pentax Australia there is still no word of a release date as yet plus there is a lot of secrecy about it too they are not allowed to divulge certain information. This is as off 18 March 2021

I really like the increased openness and communication from Ricoh. Long may it continue. I just wish they would subtitle all their videos so I could fully enjoy them all. Well done, Ricoh.

Nice. I'm particularly excited about the AF system. Seems like they put a lot of work into it. He mentioned that eye detect is available through the viewfinder. Hmmmmmm......

This is great. Looking forward to it, this would be a great step forward for my primary camera, the K3.

Not wishing to be ungrateful, incidentally, but I wish they'd dubbed it - you have to spend half your time on pause to look at all the on screen information...

I noticed that he told us K-1 owners that we need this camera as a second body “depending on our feelings or creative goals at the moment”.

That 30 megapixel metering sensor is rather high resolution, or not? That would be more than the actual image sensor at 25 mp...

However, this camera seems to be really good.

Transcription typo. It's about 300,000 pixels on the metering/AF sensor, so should say 300K pixel.

I was very impressed with the contents/information of this video. I wonder if Pentax was hearing angst amongst its fans for Pentax/Ricoh not being more communicative. It does lend immediate hope to a forthcoming K-1 III with some of the upgrades found in the K-3 III. And it helps explain more fully the retaining of the "K-3" designation for their flagship APS-C cameras. From what I had heard prior to seeing this video, I was not planning on buying a K-3 III and just was going to hope and wait for a K-1 III, but the things in this K-3 III as explained in this video have me re-thinking that strategy. From what I had read previously on the K-3 III, I have been speculating that it'll start around USD $1400 for on-the-street pricing, but after seeing all that's in this camera, I'm not so sure that Pentax will sell it that cheaply. If it's in K-1 II territory for pricing, that will kill off my interest in it.
