People at Ricoh Imaging Square Paris (formerly known as La Boutique Pentax) have definitely heard of it.
That's good to know!

Finally !!
Personally, a bit more patience .... until users start showing what this camera can (or cannot) do.
((and until the price comes down?))

The current Suez canal blockage raises the question of whether camera gear is dispatched to Europe from Asia by ship or by air, even in normal times. Given the high value per kg, it may be the latter. And with a just-released new model, this is even more likely.

I would guess that most - if not all - content of modern Pentax cameras comes from Asia.

I would say that the cameras are shipped via Air Freight given the shipping time from the factory in the Phillipines or Vietnam to Europe via shipping container ship can probably take 20 to 30 days. That means that the cameras would have to have been dispatched from The Ricoh/Pentax factory sometime back in late January or early February to reach ports in Europe and to be distributed to various sales entities. Shipping via ocean freight would probably be more risky for sensitive electronic devices because of the potential for salt laden air degradation even with supposedly "sealed" containers

Pretty soon, cameras, and some other merchandise, will be "shipped" via drones!

There appears to be confirmation of announcement this week and the camera going on sale from Kimio Tanaka on his blog today.

Original
PENTAX K-3 Mark III

Machine translated
The Pentax K-3 Mark III will be officially announced at the end of this month and will go on sale around the end of next month.
It's been a long time since the development announcement - a new record for us, but that's typical of Pentax. But it's good. The price is a bit high, but considering the "various circumstances", I guess it can't be helped. It's a good camera, a little plain but serious and responsive.

For the people who were hopping mad about the frivolity of the J-Limited K-1 II last month, you will be pleased to hear that this camera is plain, serious and responsive.

Ricoh has a lot of products going on sale at the end of April - Limiteds, J-Limited, K-3 III and Z1 51GB.

Does this include pre orders next week or is that unconfirmed?

Assuming these latest rumors are true, the announcement (正式発表) will mean the following.
- Promotional material for the camera will go live. This means the product pages on the website and the catalog will be in shops and online.
- The product will be available preorder on the Ricoh website and other usual retailers that stock Pentax
- Embargos and NDAs on the product will be released. This will depend on who had access to the camera in advance, but I think there is a good chance that websites like DPR will have detailed reviews ready. The product was finished and reviewed by Japanese magazines a couple of months ago. They just had production trouble preventing them from going on sale.
- The Ricoh Imaging Square locations will likely have a display model that visitors can try out. (Fairly certain for Tokyo and Osaka, and I hope the case for Shanghai, Moscow, Paris)
- The availability date will be announced (reportedly end of April, and almost always a Friday)

On the availability date (発売日):
- The camera will be in stores
- In recent years, I've noticed preorders overseas seem to have been sent out a bit before that, and the first customer taking delivery are outside Japan. I guess delivery trouble during COVID could affect that this year.

As has been posted in other threads months ago, a Finnish webstore (Kamerakauppa netissä - Top Shot | Top Shot - Kamerakauppa) has shown the preliminary price of 1999 € (incl. 24% VAT) for a long time. Today I asked them if that is the actual price or just a placeholder. They answered that they have not been told the actual price yet, but it should be pretty much that.
Geez. The camera can be ordered NOW from that Finnish store quoted above and costs 2199 € (incl. 24% VAT)! But Finland is usually more expensive than most bigger EU countries and much more expensive than US. But I'd expect it to cost about 2000 € in other EU countries and some USD 2000 in the US.

Edit: Expected delivery by May 31.

Edit 2: Now price updated to 2099 €.
