The price he told me
K-1 Mark II is 258500 JPY @ ?PENTAX K-1 Mark II ?????? | RICOH IMAGING. So, K-3 Mark III will be less than K-1 mark II?

That seems about right, as it works out to about $1,740 in the U.S.

How did I come up with that number?

The current price of the K-1 Mark II in Japan (at Ricoh Imaging) is 258,500 JPY.
The current price of the K-1 Mark II in the U.S. (at Ricoh Imaging) is $1,800 (USD).

Assuming that this same ratio applies to the K-3 III, a price of 250,000 JPY works out to approximately $1,740.

That's very close to what I have been expecting. It seems reasonable to me that they would price it at the same level as the Fujifilm XT-4, which is a premium APS-C camera, and which sells for about $1,700. If the K-3 III performs as expected then this is a very fair price. Sure, it is about the same price as the full-frame K-1 Mark II, but then again it has much newer technology, including what appears to be superior image quality at very high ISOs, and better AF. So the price strikes me as right on target.

It does make sense. Being that this is an aps c sized sensor, the fujifilm x-t4 is most likely what everyone is going to compare it to, followed by the a6600

well over AU$ 3k! after you add GST/duties and taxes = AU$ 3.5k. that can not be right?!?
You can't get the CRK price by doing a conversion from yen to AUD. As far as I can see, the camera will have to be priced at least a smidgen under the K1ii. Introductory prices in Japan are always high because there's enthusiasts who want to be the first to own it with the lowest serial number. The same reason why there's special versions of cameras only for the Japanese market. We just have to wait until it appears on the CRK website - which seems to have been oddly flaky over the last few days. I'm hoping they are updating it to add the new camera...

And after the first round review at dpreview it looked like the K3III was going to have a gold medal, which would upset Sony. Management asked the review team to organize an exceptional brain-storming session to find reasons to rate it lower than a Sony.

In a nod to the past, maybe the kit lens will be the new HD Pentax-DA* 33/1.4 DC AW

....on a more serious note, Pentax Australia has just posted another K-3 III story on their Facebook page, which it calls "one LAST look behind the scenes", and finishes with "exciting stuff coming soon!"

I hope it means they're expecting timely stock.

The ability to separately store four sets of AF-presets is a nice move.

Shown here:

https://pentaxrumors.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Pentax-K-3-Mark-III-came...h-Eye-AF-3.jpg

So you do not need to fill a full user setting slot with this, but can access this separately.

The gui looks inspired by the GR with those little boxes. The GR gui is very good, I wonder how much is transferred to the K33. An slr has different requirements. I quite like that the GR can store more settings than user modes on the dial. You can then quickly load banks of settings onto the user modes ast will. It also means that when tweaking the usermode for a specific shoot you can load the proper default back from the bank of settings when you are done. It's a bit over the top but it's done quite well.

As has been posted in other threads months ago, a Finnish webstore (Kamerakauppa netissä - Top Shot | Top Shot - Kamerakauppa) has shown the preliminary price of 1999 € (incl. 24% VAT) for a long time. Today I asked them if that is the actual price or just a placeholder. They answered that they have not been told the actual price yet, but it should be pretty much that.
