Looks good to me. I do hope that they can do a little faster work getting this same tech into a K-1 II sequel and maybe even a 645z sequel. If they go too long I might get one of these, but I would prefer to buy (I've been scolded on using the word "invest") a full frame camera, but I do need a K3 replacement at some point too.

It's actually quite popular in Japan on the net-based media though COVID muffled that in 2020. Many businesses would issue fake materials and some of them are funny.

The real way to determine the success of the K3 III will be to start a dedicated thread for posting images made with the camera. then see if the activity matches that on the "Post Your K1 images" thread.

Don't get it twisted. The KP is absolutely a flagship caliber APSC.
Don't undersell that KP! It's more than a flagship (if you compare its linear dimensions with the K5).

In the release notes of January 25, 2017 of the KP: "Heir to K-3 legacy, "; "The PENTAX KP packs many of the advanced capabilities of the award-winning PENTAX K-3 series into a modern, slim-body design". I guess this is a way of saying that it is meant to be the new flagship...

Opinions about whether the KP was meant to be a true flagship, or a place-holder during the development of the K-3 Mark III, are entirely that: opinions.

I'm just looking forward to getting out with my K-3 III ASAP

I've gone from 80-20 wait for reviews to 50-50 preorder, and now almost certain to be an early adopter. Even gave my wife a heads-up earlier this evening.

Love how people are already eager to wait and see what advances in the K-3iii make it to the next version of the K-1. Always waiting... I've been waiting for ten years with my K-5 for a variety of reasons. I'm not going to wait for a year to save a couple of hundred bucks on something that I expect to be so much better.

I loved my K-5 when it came out, but it's tired, and I'm tired of waiting. It's getting tired. Had always thought I'd pick up the FF frame when it finally came out but didn't. This is the camera for me. I will be an early adopter and can't wait to see how much progress Pentax has made in ten years. Sign me up!

What I'm really looking forward to is shooting wildlife with the DFA 150-450. My DA* 11-18 and DFA 70-210, and the new DA* 16-50, should also provide great performance, especially with the new AF system. That will make for a pretty compelling action setup.

I'll keep the KP for the DA Limiteds. I sincerely hope Ricoh considers a similar second crop body going forward.

I can see my full frame kit being pared to mainly primes, although I think there'll always be a place for the DFA 28-105.
