People were particularly bothered by the KP's lack of two card slots and less buffer size than the K-3 series. I think it if had at least maintained those two things folks would have been relatively satisfied with getting KPs as a K-3 II replacement.

I wonder if the cameras are stuck in the Suez canal.

Neither of those.
Also an opinion, and equally irrelevant.
The KP is now a thing of the past. I am very pleased to own one. I will continue to use it until it dies.

that is a possibility. since a 23 april launch date is about 3 to 4 weeks before an arrival in europe or the states. then again, for the state versions it will probably come from the west, through the pacific route. I'm guessing if the don't get that ship moving in the next week. it will be delayed for at least a month.

The KP has now disappeared from the CRK page. Given that it still shows K-50 and K-S2 (due 14/4), I guess that means that somewhere there is still stock of those other long-discontinued cameras, but the KP is now barely a memory.
Or they don't want KP sales to detract from K3iii sales?

Also, the prices on any K3 II or even K3 will plumet. and a 400 to 500$/€ K3 is a mighty tempting offer. all the shooting options alone !

Being up front and honest is the only way to be. We never keep anything from each other.

Ignore that I "forgot" to mention that spendy camera bag coming next month. Oh, and the speedlight I got last week. And the two Sigma lenses last month. And the second Spiderbelt a couple weeks earlier, all of which I think I might have failed to mention. Or maybe I told her. I forget. Besides, there's really no hiding a new K3III anyway.

I might blame any occasional "upfront" lapses on me being old and very forgetful and her being hard of hearing in one ear. (I always pay attention to which ear I'm speaking to.)

Oh, yes there is. When you get to a certain level of camera gear, to the other half they all just look like black things in the big chest of drawers

That's why I don't have any silver camera bodies or lenses yet. And that's the real reason I haven't switched to mirror less!!!

A few weeks ago I told my wife that I haven't used any of my Amazon points in over a year. When she asked what I was going to do with all that I mentioned a new Pentax camera coming. But I was not too specific about (read: didn't mention at all) the roughly $500 difference between my savings and the K-3iii price.
