Yeah I'm hoping that they will make a page for it tomorrow or Wednesday. If not then I guess orders will open on Monday

I'll assume that came from Adorama reps so thanks for the clarification. Their website banner implies closure until Tuesday:
"Orders placed during Passover Holiday (Fri 3/26 after 12:30PM ET – Sun 4/4) will start shipping Mon 4/5"

Click the “View our holiday shipping schedule” link that comes right after that text for the additional details about phone orders and customer support being open from tomorrow through Friday.

Camera Canada. They have no info on the K-3 III as of yet so my pre-order shows as $0.
Once they get word from Ricoh Imaging Canada they'll reach out to me with the actual price and we'll go from there.
The Pre-Order is more like a placeholder for now until info trickles down to the store and we can move forward.

I've already budgeted with an inflated cost and weighed the option of switching and replacing/adding lenses. My mind is made up lol

Or maybe there is no significance at all other than a routine stock shipment .

(BTW, nice avatar, is that your truck?)
sorry I took the quote and information as literall, like when someone says I'll be there in 10 minutes" i think that personw ill be here in 10 minutes.
Looks like it won't be rel;eased in Australia until well in April if that.
No sorry its not my truck! I just like cars and trucks, I can drive them just don't own one as nice as my pic.

  • Pentax K-3 Mark III Body: ¥279,800 incl. VAT (10% VAT in Japan)
  • Pentax K-3 Mark III Premium Kit: probably ¥319,800 incl. VAT.
translates to, excluding 10% VAT
  • Pentax K-3 Mark III Body: US$ 2,300 excl. tax
  • Pentax K-3 Mark III Premium Kit: probably US$ 2,600 excl. tax.
would the camera be that expensive?

I am hoping for a price between US$ 1,500 and US$ 1,700

It has been repeatedly noted that one does not simply obtain pricing for non-Japanese markets by taking the JPY price, eliminating the tax, and converting to USD. Best case scenario, we see it launch in the US$1700–1800 range, which is where many of us have been predicting. I think the price leaks we're getting out of Japan, where the K-1 ii currently retails for JPY258,500 with tax (vs US$1799, which shows why you can't just do currency conversions), suggest that we're going to see a launch price more around US$1900. Still less than the D500's launch price even without factoring in inflation.

The typical rate of conversion from Ricoh Japan prices to B&H or Adorama is 140-150 yen per dollar. So ¥279,800 is approximately between $1850-2000.

I will say this. As much as I'm looking forward to the camera, if it's 2000$ body only I'm going to say no for now and look at something like the fujifilm x-t4. Reasonably it should be 1700-1800$

I love how so many people are experts on pricing for a camera that no one not under an NDA has even tested yet. There was a lot of R&D money put into this camera. It's not going to be on the inexpensive end. I still think under US$2000, but I'm now leaning more US$1900 than US$1700.

I know. But as someone from a third party stance that doesn't hate pentax, it wouldn't be a smart move to make it so expensive. There is no good gain for pentax if the camera is as expensive as a full frame body and everyone who hates pentax will immediately point that out. Which will drive away potential sales. If the af is amazing great but at a price of 2000$, I can get several cheaper alternatives that arguably will do just as well in the stills department (maybe not as comfortable of a body) and much better in the video department. This is all conjecture until the price is finally revealed (hopefully tomorrow). But there is definitely good reason to not want it to be pricey. I don't want pentax to fail, I personally want them to succeed.

Edit* just wanted to make an additional note, it's important that pentax bring in new customers, not just keep some and lose a few more to other systems.

I'd guess that people in the market for a camera know what capabilities they're looking for, what is likely in the K-3iii, what the competition brings to the table, the trade-offs of other brands, and the costs of similar feature sets in cameras already on the market. $2000 is about as expensive as any non-Leica APS-C camera on the market, so if that's the price the K-3iii better be really good.

That is correct. They're just a phone call away though which is how I placed my order and got email confirmation. Just waiting on final pricing.
