I'm hoping they secretly included the DFA21 and DA*1650 in the firmware update.

"Optimized focus operation for new lenses HD PENTAX-FA 31 mm F1.8 Limited, HD PENTAX-FA 43 mm F1.9 Limited, HD PENTAX-FA 77 mm F1.8 Limited lenses and smc PENTAX-FA 31mm F1.8AL limited, smc PENTAX-FA 43mm F1.9AL limited and smc PENTAX-FA 77mm F1.8AL limited lenses."

RICOH IMAGING

PENTAX K-1 FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION (1.54)
PENTAX K-1 Mark II FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION (1.20)
PENTAX KP FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION (1.30)
PENTAX K-70 FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION (1.12)
PENTAX K-3 II FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION (1.11)
PENTAX K-3 FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION (1.42)

I wonder if we will see the K-3 III firmware added soon too.
Am I to assume that as I don't own any of the lenses mentioned above that I don't need to update the firmware on my K-70? Thanks.

Why? Are you aware of any focusing issues with these yet unreleased lenses?

Well, I ain't complaining about getting some improvements to the AF of the 77 and 43... not that I noticed anything particularly glaring about them before.

They always publish firmware updates whenever a lens is released, but I don't think they do that before formally announcing the lens itself...

like @RobSpain,

I wonder if any one thinks there are " hidden benefits " to the announced updates

my son has inherited the KP from me but doesn't have any of the listed lenses

and my younger brother is borrowing the K 3 but doesn't have any of the listed lenses

what benefits would occur getting them to update the firmware on those cameras ?

Quite a leap in version number in K-1II FW- 1.05 to 1.20, for KP 1.11 to 1.30. Maybe some tweaks in software created(for accelerator etc) from K-3III got incorporated into older models, this time without "Improved stability for general performance" notice

It might give them the itch to try those FA Limiteds.

Wait, is that a benefit? We both know that it's a very slippery slope of LBA

Quite unreasonably my KP complained I didn't have enough battery power. So it says increased stability right. No need for a tripod anymore then?

Concerning the K-70, there is also a bug fix:

I was rather hoping for some new features from the K3iii in the KP firmware, much like Fuji did with the XT 3 & 4. Maybe next time
