AF fine adjustment didn't change on my KP, but I'll probably check if any lenses need their AF tuning adjusted.

The Dot Tune method is pretty quick.
Dot tune. Brilliant. I will give it a go. Thanks

I’ve never updated firmware on my K3 Mk1. What am I missing out on?

i had the same reaction! Just checked my K-1 and the fine adjustment of -9 for the fat 50 is still there. Phew..!
But is it correct? I haven't done all my AF lenses yet, but the D FA*85/1.4 needed to be readjusted by enough that I doubt very much it was misadjusted when I dialed it in after buying it.

I had a quick check last night and it seemed okay. But now doubt has crept in. I'll have to check carefully when I have some time on the weekend. Thanks for the message, even if it brought some disquiet to my even temperament!

These are the things that are sent to vex us. I only noticed with my 85 because when I pulled it out yesterday, it seemed off by a hair (literally). Now I have to set up a test bench and check all my AF lenses.
I'd rather watch peas boil in a pot.

You are missing out on several important/useful features; for example, timed exposures up to 20 minutes, night mode, and Image Transmitter 2 support. The full list of features and download link are at...
Latest PENTAX K-1 Firmware Update : Software Downloads | RICOH IMAGING
Note that there are user manual supplement PDF links in the descriptions for v1.30 and v1.40 that are helpful in determining how to use the features.

And wouldn't it be sooooo nice if we could buy that today from Ricoh or a non-sketchy dealer! Sheesh!

You can order from B&H for $249.79 USD...

I know...where did that come from? I guess because the K-3iii has been added to the compatible camera list.

It seems I need a bigger memory card for my K3. Is there SD cards I cannot use?

A 32MB card, empty except for the fwdc220b.bin file in the card root directory should work.

FWIW, I updated the K-70 but then forgot to reformat the SD card - then took quite a few shots in the garden without any (obvious?) issues. Therefore I don't think that it is "absolutely necessary" to do that, but maybe simply delete the .bin file "as and when".

Nothing special happens because you're not pressing the MENU button while turning on the camera, which is the required action to start the firmware update.
