I don't think those are the reasons for the UK price. They do explain the slight difference between the US price ($1,400) and the Eurozone price (€1,500) though.
$1,400 = €1,183 excl. VAT = €1,420 incl VAT < €1,500. The Eurozone price is 5-6% higher than the US price.
However, VAT and warranties are (still) equivalent in the UK and the Eurozone, yet £1,500 = €1,757 >> €1,500.
I see two other reasons for the UK price to be 17% higher than the Eurozone price:
- The UK having become a small market, not a portion of a large market (the European market) anymore.
- Widespread distrust of the UK economy and its post-Brexit prospects.
