D FA 21mm f/? Rumor(s)?

It‘s coming, but considering all kinds of shortages, it may be delayed. This time it would be totally fine.

Sometimes I wonder though if Pentax relies a lot on people who just buy everything they release. There seems to be some people like that on this forum and they certainly seem to exist in Japan.

It seems crazy to think the same person will buy the da1650 and the dfa21 but it seems those people exist in some numbers.

If I’d have the money, this would be the case. Since I’v bought K-3III and I have to prioritice…it will be 16-50 first. But that 21 will be on my shopping list. Sweet focal on FF as well as on aps-c. 16-50 should be one killer lens. Looks like it.

I guess you didn't recognize the humor.
Anyway, I'm glad you are happy with your APS-C zoom lens, but it doesn't work particularly well on the format that the D FA 21mm lens is targeted to.
It might be a nice lens for you, but it's not a good lens for K1 users.
Crop mode is not a viable option. If we wanted APS-C we could have saved substantial coin.

You buy lenses until you stop having occasions when you don't have a suitable lens for what you want to do that day. Back when I had 5 lenses, I bought a lot more lenses. Now I have 22, there isn't a lot more I even have use for. I doubt there's a lot of people buying lenses they have no use for, just because Pentax puts them out. People forget the angst that went on in here because Pentax wasn't producing top tier glass. Now that they are, the posers are exposed. Some people. especially those selling their work want the confidence of knowing they are shooting the best. It's just so precious that Pentax is providing that. Not for me but for the people who want it.
