K200D NOT discontinued

Pentax Japanese site has a list of 8 discontinued DSLRs

Initially K200D was listed as discontinued.

Now it is removed from the list.

So hopefully, it is not discontinued.

Cheers for the K200D owners

Holy cow what happen here?? Certainly its good news for me as I have a K200d and just bought the grip for cheap, no complaint here just wondering what's going on.

Too bad I don't have the cash to get a second k200d now, if its still being produced the price won't go as low as we just see in fleabay lately.....

That's good news! I was and am seriously considering buying one - maybe next week - as my first foray into DSLR. I figured I'd get the body with the kit lens and one other - probably a prime.

The DA35 macro appeals greatly. Or maybe the FA 35

Then I thought I'd wait to see what the K30D has to offer when it comes out, probably sometime in the first half of next year?

I seriously doubt it was Pentax who changed their minds, rather sloppy webmaster.

The *ist-D was "discontinued" after about a year. Sold for at least 2 years after that. Have no idea what "discontinued" means to Pentax. Their definition is fluid and loose apparently. I really think it's more of a marketing tool to move the model faster.......

These Web sites are driven using a publishing model. Future content is defined, created, tested, and pushed to the production environment with a "go live date" flag. What is likely is that the "go live date" was set improperly and that we saw content that is likely to be exposed in the near future.

I'm not sure why I should feel relieved or concerned about the K200D's marketplace status. I also have a *stDS, it still works fine, and it's been discontinued for years. My computers are somewhat out-of-date too. My 5-year old car still runs fine, even though the model has been redesigned since then at least once. And I've got some Pentax lenses that are decades old. I guess I'm just a terrible consumer!

The "other" link is the Japanese web site but in English, that's just the Japanese language version, maybe they "forgot" to change it.
