Looks like some delays for the GR III and GR IIIx in store...

??????????????????????????????RICOH IMAGING

"Notice and Apology Regarding the Supply of Compact Digital Camera Products

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of our products.

Due to delays in the procurement of some parts used in the "RICOH GR III", it may take some time before the product is delivered. In addition, the initial sales of the "RICOH GR IIIx," which is scheduled to be released on October 1, 2021, will be available, but it may take some time to deliver the product in the future as well.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers and other concerned parties.

Thank you for your understanding."

Okay, a pity. Nevertheless, some testers seem to have got their hands on some of them, in Germany it seems.

No surprise there. Anything that isn't a pile of dirt seems to have shipping delays right now.

Here they mention December instead of October. The world is short of many things- still, announcing a new camera only makes sense if you can sell a first batch.

1/ Yes and no, they all do.
2/ Even then, if your supplier suddenly says there's none. What can you do ?

If your supplier says the needed parts will be in your hands by a particular date, and you make an announcement based on that, and then your suppler isn't able to deliver, it kind of leaves you in the lurch.
These things don't sit in warehouses for months after they are boxed, it's pretty much a straight flow from the end of the assembly line to the dealers, and just in time inventorying is very prone to burps in the system.
