Yeah, it's not bad - one would probably be able to argue that the resolution loss in the edges and corners actually improves the OOF rendering.
Ya I've argued that. I don't think I convinced anyone.

So how do you explain these photos. F2 1/125 100 ISO

F2 1/250 100 ISO

F2 1/30 100 ISO
What should we see at 2.6 MP photos?
One photo shows only center resolution at 2.6 MP and bokeh.

That “sharp” is an underdefined term.

So true. Is an image with superior centre sharpness but weaker edges sharper or worse than an image with softer centre but stronger edges? Is a low contrast image as sharp as a flat one? It certainly looks sharper. Acceptable sharpness for one is not sharp at all for someone else.

Sharpness is in the eye of the beholder.

Yes but just remember in EU it includes VAT at ~20%.
Anyway, I'm now officially out of the target audience, by a fair margin. I'll be looking instead at FA20s, FA20-35s, FA*24s to replace/upgrade my A24 in the coming years...

My standards of "acceptable sharpness" has actually decreased the more I shoot photos.

But it's there. I mean, I love the two FA Limiteds I own, to bits. But they have fringing and that's undeniable.
I think for landscape photos you want pretty even sharpness. Of course you can stop down some, but with wide angles on a landscape you should be able to shoot at f4 or f5.6 and still have most things in focus, assuming your focus point isn't 1 meter in front of the camera.

If this does good in Astro, I'm in. I'll wait and watch. Looking forward to some reviews from our dear experts

Yeah, for me personally I'd rather have a lens that is not that sharp but is so with evenness... most "not so sharp" lenses can be post processed to a point I can make a good print out of them at a relatively large size. If the lens is dramatically better in the center it can be a bit jarring, and it's harder to process.

The DFA 24mm f/2.4 Limited is very deliberately designed as a Limited lens, not a * lens. Don't judge it by what it is not meant to be.
