Distortion is likely, they've stated before that UWA's should have a bit of barrel distortion to look natural.
Could you point me to that article? I have been searching for it like forever. I have read it once but cannot remember where.

As a limited lens, the rendering will probably be quite different than the 15-30.

To the contrary, they missed the Fuji advantage one more time not even reaching f/2.
For what type of photography is that an advantage?
2 to 2.4 is a half stop.
Is the Fuji an FF lens?

One more time, this lens has no probability to be a Pentax choice-breaker, whatever it's qualities.

Fuji has generally speaking faster lenses than Pentax (APS-C and medium format)
There is a non-Pentax section for guys like you.

Then, there's the fact that most of the user base isn't interested in any particular lens. That is, name a lens, any lens, and it would be bought by less than half of the user base.
This isn't typical to Pentax, of course, nor limited to lenses. How it would be if any discussion about anything would be flooded by people saying, "I'm not interested"?
Obviously, if you're not interested, just ignore the thread.

Well, to me the question is simple : having both FA*24/2 and A20/2.8, both of them using 67mm filter shreads, i don't see much interest for this new and overly "limited" lens (in aperture) having a bigger filter shread "for nothing" at least on a landscaping point of view.
If you prefer lenses built in or before 2004 fine.

The Fuji 23mm f4 is a medium format lens. The Pentax D-FA 21 2.4 is faster by almost two stops.

The Fuji lens also won't fit a Pentax body, something that seems to elude some people.

And if you think 67mm in today's metric system is bigger than 67mm in the 2004 metric system.....

It'll be interesting to see how this compares to the old sigma 20mm f/1.8 where aperture values overlap.

I've been lucky enough to get my hands on a good copy of the sigma and find that it performs well around f/2.8 and above.

I'd really appreciate the weather sealing, smaller size, and better build quality of the Pentax, though. In the hand, the sigma doesn't seem like a lens that can handle much abuse.

I did not comment on millimeters. I congratulated the user who is happy with 30+ year old lens designs, comparing them to a lens that is not yet released.

Yes, I used Canon for twenty years because I liked their lenses,
but I eventually came back to Pentax because I was let down by their lower tier bodies.
Evaluation has to be of the overall system.

I think this doesn't even make a whole lot of sense for APS-C shooters, unless they are planning to get a K-1 at some point in the future. The DA 21 limited is cheaper and much smaller.

Just because a lens is a niche lens doesn't mean that it is chopped liver...

All the DSLR manufacturers have 2 user bases. We have the APS-C user base and the full frame user base. Equipment wise, there probably isn't much cross talk, even though the formats use the same lens mount.
I expect the same holds true for Canon and Nikon.

This isn't a 21mm f0.95 with a 49mm filter thread weighing in at 300g? Jeeze pentax is doomed.

My lenses are about evenly split. But the large DFA zooms are where I don’t tend to buy since I’m using only apsc with Pentax.
