I have had a A7 since launch mostly for manual lenses.
With the potential coming of this adapter, I got a used A7iii and since its was supposed to have better AF, I got some cheap Samyang AF lenses for it (the 45/1.8 and 75/1.8).
I have to say that the AF is impressive and far ahead of what Pentax has (K1, K3, dunno about K3ii, though I doubt its better )
Face and eye detection is fast and accurate and so is tracking for moving shots.
The Samyang 45 and 75 (sounds familiar don't they.. ) offer amazing quality for the price, rivaling the FA ltd (that I have).

I am in some ways shaken, that things have advanced quite a bit over the years since K3, K1, not only for MILC camera AF, but also for lenses (price/performance/AF)
Start to ask myself if I even need the AF adapter at $4xx when I can top up a bit more for Samyang 18/45/75mm set and be done with it.
Of course I have many other Pentax AF lenses and the adapter can still be justified, but a cheap Samyang set does get the job done too if I don't want think too much about all this.
I’m also conflicted. My Sony A7Riii kit includes a 24-105, the 28 f2, and the 85 f1.8. As well as a Sony wide angle attachment for the 28 that makes it a 20mm f2.8. I had hoped to supplement these and get double duty from my Pentax glass but the long delay, price increase over initial projections, slow and limited communication from this product designer have blunted my initial enthusiasm for this product.

I’d love to hear more about your experience with the 45 in another thread.

Amazing quality for the price, yes. rivaling the Limited? I disagree.

This being a Pentax Forum, I seldom want to say much, many are very sensitive about postings saying BrandX being better for some aspects, though in fact I probably own more lenses than most like all the Pentax 85mm and even the Takumar 100/2.

I seldom post elsewhere (and less so anywhere nowadays)
My take on the 45, its so cheap for what it does that its a "just get it".
Cheap, small, lightweight, versatile 50'ish focal length, center sharp wide open and sharp stopped down (for all normal uses), good oof.
The AF of the A7iii justifies it further.

Seems to me you are the first who bought it. Are you reporting the case?

Don't worry - if it fries the camera, it's just a Sony. If it fried the lens, now that would be bad

Do you have any links to side-by-side reviews? I'd like to read if available. I have three original limited lenses and corresponding Samyang lenses, they are relatively close in quality, with some differences of course. However you can't compare their AF performance because - very different due to system differences.

Hopefully the updates will also include support for 3rd party lenses like the Tamron 70-200 f2.8
